Judging the Festival Songs in the ROCK and URBAN/R&B GENRES

Joe DiBlasi is a top Los Angeles based lead guitarist, songwriter, arranger and producer. Like all the greats, Joe does it all. From Rock to Classical, from Spanish to R&B, from Urban to Jazz to Country, he plays all genres with great success. Joe graduated from California State University Northridge with a degree in guitar. The American master guitarist, in Jazz, Bebop and Pop, Tommy Tedesco, heard Joe play. Tommy took Joe under his wing, and pointed producers in his direction. At a very young age Joe began playing on such blockbuster films as Rocky I, Rocky III, An Officer And A Gentleman, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones The Last Crusade and The Karate Kid.

Joe has more than filled the shoes of his mentor. Joe has played on scores of chart-toppers and recorded with many of the most famous. Pink Floyd tapped his talents for help in recording The Wall. Since then his lead guitar solos have been heard on the concert stages and/or the recordings of Peabo Bryson, Bert Bacharach, Stevie Wonder, Dion Warwick, George Benson, Chicago, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Christopher Cross, Kenny Rogers, Phil Collins and Frank Sinatra - and that's the short list.

In addition to Joe's extensive recording career, he is an accomplished composer, arranger and songwriter. He writes for TV Shows and Feature Films and has composed hundreds of radio promos, movie trailers and advertising jingles including spots for Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota.

Joe received a Billboard Award for "Best Female Latin Record of the Year" as producer of Charo's Guitar Passion CD. He was also nominated for two Grammy Awards as the producer of the 2005 Buck Page CD, Right Place To Start. This award-winning lead guitarist, songwriter, arranger and producer will be judging Festival songs in the Rock and Urban/R&B Genres.
